Practical experience and lessons of wild fishing on rainy day

Fishing skills in summer

When fishing in natural waters in summer, anglers will have this feeling, that is, it is difficult to catch fish on sunny days. Fish either hide in deep water areas or float away from the bottom due to high temperature and low water pressure. Some anglers will ask whether it is possible to use flying lead to fish for fish that float away from the bottom. This method will not be very effective! Because in summer, fish basically hide in deep water areas or other hidden places and rarely move. They basically do not approach the shore, especially larger fish.
However, this summer, especially since July, there have been more rainy days. Although fish are easier to catch in the wild on rainy days, it is not like what many anglers think, that the fish bite is particularly good, the rods are continuous, and it is even very easy to explode and so on.
So, what details should be paid attention to when fishing in rainy summer? Let’s continue to talk about it today.
The first is the issue of bait selection.
Fishing skills in summer

  •              Fishing in natural waters on rainy days, especially in river flowing areas, will reduce the phenomenon of small fish disturbing the hook a lot. According to the actual situation of the fishing waters, you can choose bait with a strong fishy smell. For a long time, most people who fish in natural waters in the wild generally choose their own bait. As for whether to rub the bait or pull the bait, you can pull the bait when the water is relatively clear and not so turbid. You can pull the big ball bait in deep water and small bait in shallow water. When the water is turbid, you can choose to rub the bait, of course, you can also choose to fish with earthworms. Sometimes, using earthworms works very well.
  •                The second is the choice of fishing position. In fact, fishing on rainy days, the fishing position is relatively easy to choose, and there are not so many requirements. The main problem is the type of fish.
  • The original water depth is generally two to three meters.
  • But no matter how to choose the fishing position, safety first! This is a topic that must be remembered! Which kind of isolated island in the river waters, the protruding earth bag in the middle of the river, etc., are generally not suitable for selection even if the fish effect is good! During the wild fishing trip, it is often found that some anglers choose this kind of place. There is more rain in summer, and it is common for rivers to rise. Once this happens, it will threaten your life! Accidents often occur because of unsafe fishing positions, so we must take it as a warning!
  •       The third is the problem of choosing the length of the fishing rod. Many anglers believe that fish stay close to the side on rainy days, so don’t throw long rods! This sentence is very reasonable to a certain extent. However, according to the actual wild fishing process, the saying that an inch longer is an inch stronger is still very reasonable, and it is even applicable to wild fishing on rainy days.
  • Especially when the width of the river in the water area is not particularly large, such as a river with a width of five or six meters, the river bank of the fishing spot is generally a relatively flat place with a small slope, and the opposite bank is often a steeper river bank that is difficult to reach. The opposite bank of these waters often has a slow flow, but it is still a flowing area. It is often found that fish often jump out of the water in these waters, especially larger fish often appear in this water area.
  • Many rainy day wild fishing, almost all of them are like this. If you use a short rod, you can’t fish in the waters near the water plants on the opposite bank. I have been fishing with my fishing friends many times, and I found that using a long rod to fish in the waters with slow currents on the opposite bank is often much better than using a short rod to fish in the waters near the shore.
  •               Fourth, choose to fish on rainy days. Some things that you don’t usually bring must be brought at this time!
  • Umbrellas are a must. You can also bring raincoats, but you will find it very inconvenient during actual wild fishing.
  • If there is muddy water and a lot of grass on the shore when choosing a fishing spot, it is very easy to wet fishing gear, clothes, pants, shoes, etc. You can prepare some plastic bags and put them on your shoes, trouser legs, etc. when necessary, so as to avoid extreme discomfort because your shoes, clothes, and pants are covered with muddy water everywhere.
  • Five is also a very important issue that everyone tends to overlook. Try not to go fishing on thunderstorms! Especially when visibility is very low, the sky is very dark, there are lightning and thunder, and the thunder is very close, don’t continue fishing! Going home is the best choice!
  • The last time I went fishing in the wild, I encountered heavy rain and was in a mess! Fortunately, there is a place to shelter from the rain, otherwise, it would be even more miserable.
