The casting rod consists of three parts: the rod body, the guide wire hole, and the winding wheel. It has the characteristic that it can be used for fishing in waters far from the shore. It is flexible and suitable for different water depths. You don’t need to keep staring at the float when fishing, which is easier than a hand rod. The choice of fishing spots for casting fishing is to avoid hanging on the bottom in relatively wide waters with fewer tree stumps and stones at the bottom of the water and flat areas. Choose no obstacles behind the fishing position, otherwise it will affect the casting. There are no electric wires above and near the casting rod. When using a casting rod for fishing, you need to prepare a ground plug with one rod and one bell to fix the rod.
- The length of the casting rod and the winding wheel are selected according to different waters. The longer the rod, the more conducive it is to throw farther. The winding wheel has 1000/2000/3000 types. The larger the number, the larger the amount of line that the wheel spool can accommodate. There are also many lengths of casting rods. Generally, when fishing in areas below 30 meters of water, choose a reel below 2000 and a casting rod below 2.4 meters. In large waters above 30 meters, use a length of more than 2.4M and a reel above 3000. The line in the spool inside the reel cannot be fully wound, otherwise the line is easy to be scattered during use, resulting in casting being affected. It is best to keep the winding amount at 90% of the capacity of the spool.
- Choose different types of casting for different sizes of fish. For fishing small fish, such as crucian carp, choose a short casting rod with a thin and soft tip. The thinner and softer the tip, the more sensitive the feedback signal. For fishing large fish, choose a thicker tip to facilitate long-distance casting and fish control. The casting rod should not be fully cast like the hand rod, in order to facilitate fish control. The correct casting distance should not exceed 80% of the line amount.
- According to different distances, choose different weights of lead sinkers for casting rods. For casting distances within 30 meters, choose 30g of lead. For casting distances beyond 30 meters, choose more than 60g of lead. The weight of the lead is selected according to the weight of the fishing group + bait. The heavier the two are, the more conducive to long-distance casting. The weight of the two should be easy to cast to the fishing spot.
- It is difficult to cast a bait, so the position of each casting should be kept in place or next to it as much as possible. Over time, the fallen bait will form a nest, which will increase the speed of attracting fish.
- Positive casting technique of the casting rod: 1. Reel in the short line group until 300M is left. 2. Press the index finger of one hand 15CM above the reel and hold the fishing rod with the palm. Open the reel buckle with the other hand, and then grab the section of the fishing rod below the reel. 3. Hold the fishing group 30 degrees back (note that there should be no people or obstacles behind). 4. Look at the area where you need to cast, and choose how much force to cast according to the point you want to fish. Release the index finger that presses the line while throwing the rod forward. 5. After the bait falls into the fishing spot, close the reel buckle to tighten the main line. 6. Use a ground plug or bracket to fix the fishing rod, and clip a bell on the end of the rod.
- The line group for casting fishing needs to be thicker than the hand rod line group. The reason is that it will be stressed when casting far, and the resistance of heavy bait in the water is relatively large when reeling in the line. The size of the line group is related to the target fish. For small fish species such as crucian carp, choose a main line below No. 3. For carp, grass carp and other fish species, choose No. 4-10 line. There are various types of fishing groups for casting rods, the most common of which are string hook fishing groups, explosive hook fishing groups, flip hook fishing groups, and silver carp and bighead carp monster fishing groups.
- For casting rods to fish small fish such as crucian carp, use a string hook fishing group, and choose No. 3 main line. Use a sleeve hook No. 3 for the hook, and choose a model of 1.5 for the sub-line. The choice of bait is different in the north and south. Red worms are used as bait in the north, and earthworms are used as bait in the south. Use an explosive hook fishing group to fish for large bottom fish. The size of the hooks for explosive hooks and flip hooks is selected according to the fish situation. The type of fish hook is Ise-ni. For fishing fish between 2-5 jin, choose a hook of 6-8, and for fishing between 5-10 jin, choose a hook of 8-10.
- The silver carp and bighead carp fishing group is designed for fishing silver carp and bighead carp. The fish hook is also Ise-ni. For fishing silver carp and bighead carp of 2-5 jin, choose a hook of 10. For fishing silver carp and bighead carp of 5-10 jin, use a hook of 12. Silver carp and bighead carp have big mouths, so the hook needs to be larger to facilitate fishing. The bait for the latter three fishing groups is convenient and quick to use finished commercial bait. Don’t reel the line too tight after casting the rod to catch the fish, otherwise it is easy to pull the line, resulting in a broken rod or line. When playing the fish, use the force release knob on the reel to keep the entire line group in a state of neither loose nor tight. The correct state is that the line can be sent out normally when the fish exerts force, and the line can be reeled in smoothly when the fish does not exert force. The force-draining device of the fishing reel is the most powerful tool for casting and fishing. All anglers should learn how to use it.
